University of Chicago Changes Admissions Policies

University of Chicago Releases UChicago Empower Initiative

The University of Chicago on June 14, 2018 released its UChicago Empower Initiative. Major features include a new test optional policy for domestic applicants, replacement of interviews with a two minute self-advocacy video, willingness to accept other materials, and new financial aid scholarships and policies for low-income and lower middle class families. In addition, the college is becoming a Posse School for Veterans, offering summer programs for diverse high school students, increasing outreach to rural communities, and providing more supports on campus for under-represented students.
